Oh speculated, "They probably discussed business. He might be trying to establish a second Burning Sun in Cambodia. However, it's questionable if anyone would financially support Seungri's ventures."

He continued, "Seungri still has a significant fan base in Japan, but in Korea, he's completely fallen from grace. In Southeast Asia, he still carries the 'BIGBANG' image, which he seems to be leveraging for illegal business activities."

Additionally, Oh noted, "He frequently travels between Cambodia and Thailand. It's unclear how often he returns to Korea, but he hasn't completely stopped coming back."

Seungri was a central figure in the 2019 'Burning Sun scandal', leading to his departure from the group and effective expulsion from the entertainment industry. In January 2020, he was indicted on eight charges, including prostitution, embezzlement, and habitual gambling. During his military trial, additional charges of special assault instigation were added. Despite appeals, the Supreme Court in 2022 upheld his conviction on all nine charges, sentencing him to 1 year and 6 months in prison. Seungri was released from Yeoju Prison in February 2023.

Following his release, Seungri made headlines with a video of him speaking at a Cambodian event, where he praised Cambodia as "the best country in Asia" and expressed intentions to bring fellow BIGBANG member G-Dragon to the country.
