TWICE Unit MISAMO Pre-Releases 'Confetti' Ahead of Debut Album 'PLAY'
Set to officially release on February 4th, the album 'PLAY' marks MISAMO's first full-length Japanese album. Leading up to the release, the group has been building anticipation by sharing various teaser content, including tracklists, concept photos, and music video teasers on their official Japanese social media channels.
At midnight on the 16th, the title track 'Confetti' and its music video were unveiled, heightening excitement. The new song 'Confetti' carries the theme "Life is an unscripted improvisation," delivering an encouraging message to keep moving forward even when things don't go as planned. The track is an upbeat, energetic groove based on big band and jazz sounds, making it a standout listening experience.
The music video showcases the main concept of the new release, 'theater', featuring Mina, Sana, and Momo portraying characters from various genres. The video captivates fans with its dynamic stage production synchronized with the members' movements, a storyline spanning horror fantasy to comedy, and stunning visuals and expressions. The performance scene with confetti evokes the climax of a joyful musical, offering viewers a burst of positive energy.
MISAMO's debut album 'PLAY' is the final installment in a trilogy that began with their debut album 'Masterpiece' in July 2023 and continued with the mini-album 'HAUTE COUTURE' in November 2024. The new album, filled with tracks that exude a sophisticated and elegant atmosphere centered around the themes of art and theater, includes a total of 12 songs, featuring solo tracks from each member alongside the title track 'Confetti'. Fans are eagerly anticipating the fresh musical direction MISAMO will present with this release.
