Former WINNER Member Nam Tae-hyun Faces Court for DUI Charges
Former WINNER member Nam Tae-hyun is set to appear in court on charges of driving under the influence (DUI).

According to legal sources on the 11th, the Seoul Western District Court's Criminal Division 11 (Presiding Judge Heo Jun-seo) will hold the first trial for Nam Tae-hyun, who has been indicted on charges including violating the Road Traffic Act (DUI).

Nam Tae-hyun is accused of hitting a central divider while attempting to overtake a vehicle near Dongjak Bridge on the Gangbyeon Expressway heading towards Ilsan at around 4:10 AM on April 27. His blood alcohol concentration at the time was reportedly at the license cancellation level of 0.08%.

In addition to the DUI charge, Nam Tae-hyun is also facing charges of exceeding the speed limit. Under the Road Traffic Act, exceeding the speed limit by more than 80 km/h can result in a fine of up to 300,000 KRW or detention, and exceeding by more than 100 km/h can lead to a fine of up to 1,000,000 KRW or detention.

Nam Tae-hyun was previously sentenced to one year in prison with a two-year probation for violating the Narcotics Control Act in January last year. In March 2023, he was also fined 6 million KRW for a DUI incident during a drug investigation.

Nam Tae-hyun debuted with the group WINNER in 2014 and left in 2016. He later debuted with the four-member band South Club.
