Girls' Generation's Yuri Named 'Artist of the Month' for December

Girls' Generation member and actress Kwon Yuri has been named the 'Artist of the Month' for December.

TENASIA recently conducted a poll on its global voting service platform, Top Ten TENASIA, to select the 'Artist of the Month - December Birthday Star.'

Kwon Yuri, born on December 5, 1989, received the most votes among artists with December birthdays, earning her the title of 'Artist of the Month' for December.

Debuting in 2007 with the hit song 'Into the New World,' Yuri has released numerous hit tracks. As a member of Girls' Generation, she has been part of successful releases like 'Oh,' 'Gee,' 'Genie,' and 'Lion Heart.' Known for her exceptional dance skills, she is often recognized as part of the dance line within the group alongside Hyoyeon.

Yuri is also active as an actress. In April, she appeared in the JTBC weekend drama 'The Art of Negotiation,' playing Song Ji-oh, the daughter of Chairman Song Jae-sik (played by Sung Dong-il) and the real owner of Dado Resort, adding intrigue to the storyline. At the end of last year, she took on her first action role as Detective Ahn Seo-yoon, an ace in the regional investigation unit, in the tvN drama 'Parole Examiner Lee.' She showcased her action skills, honed at an action school, in thrilling chase and confrontation scenes.

In July, Yuri used her strengths to spread positive influence. She transformed into a yoga instructor, holding classes in Jeju and meeting with students. She donated the entire class fee of 1.85 million KRW to a stray dog shelter.

Yuri's global activities are also noteworthy. On November 15, she held the '2025 YURI's 3rd FANMEETING TOUR 'URIVERSE' in HO CHI MINH CITY' at the Ben Thanh Theatre in Ho Chi Minh City, engaging with local fans. She prepared a special stage for the fan meeting, featuring a Girls' Generation medley, solo songs, and dance performances. Additionally, she organized events like making coffee for fans, creating a close and enjoyable experience.

Buoyed by strong support, Yuri will kick off the new year with her fans. She has confirmed a performance in Taipei on January 10, followed by an additional show in Seoul on January 24.
