Singer DK (December) delivered a mesmerizing performance filled with emotion.

DK appeared on JTBC's 'Begin Again Open Mic' on the 30th of last month, where he embarked on a nostalgic busking journey in Gyeongju.

During the show, DK expressed his gratitude to senior artist Yan before performing Yan's 'Sim (心)'. He reinterpreted the powerful and rugged song with his own soft style, amplifying the emotions of devoted love. DK's explosive vocals and emotional expression left a deep impression.

After the song, DK humorously remarked, "Every time I sing this song, my retirement gets two months closer," adding, "I've sung it hundreds of times at events and performances, so I might retire the day after 'Begin Again'."

DK also shared about his remake of 'Sim (心)' topping karaoke charts, saying, "I didn't initially realize it, but people in Southeast Asia kept asking why this singer appears in karaoke. As it became popular in karaoke, I gained fans in Vietnam and the Philippines. I'm grateful that it became a beloved song, and I always express my gratitude to the original artist, Yan, before singing it."

DK prepared a duet of MC the Max's 'Goodbye for Now' with Hwang Garam. The emotionally rich song, reminiscent of the 2000s, captivated the audience, and DK's overwhelming vocal power heightened the emotion. DK expressed, "It was an honor to sing here. Thank you."

The 'Begin Again' YouTube channel also featured DK's live performance of 'Quietly Close Your Eyes', drawing attention. Before the performance, he explained, "The original song was released by Ken Hirai in 2004 as part of the OST for the movie 'Crying Out Love in the Center of the World'. In Korea, it's known as 'Quietly Close Your Eyes' by senior artist Jung Jae-wook, who remade Ken Hirai's song, and I remade Jung Jae-wook's version, making it a 're-remake'."

Continuing his performances, DK captivated the audience with his delicate falsetto and vocal prowess, filled with autumnal emotion. He showcased his ability to maintain the original feel by singing the first verse in Korean and the second in Japanese. The audience responded enthusiastically to DK's passionate performance.

DK successfully kicked off his nationwide tour with the first performance of 'DK UNIVERSE' at the Busan Citizens Hall Grand Theater on the 22nd of last month. The concert, themed around timeless and cross-generational emotions, encapsulated DK's musical world. The journey will continue at Sungshin Women's University Unjeong Green Campus Auditorium on the 13th at 6 PM and the 14th at 5 PM.
