Netflix's 'KPop Demon Hunters' Wins Music Visionary of the Year at 2025 MAMA Awards

Netflix's animated series 'KPop Demon Hunters' (referred to as 'KDH') has been awarded the 'Music Visionary of the Year' at the 2025 MAMA Awards.

The 2025 MAMA Awards took place on the 29th at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong.

'KDH' received the 'Music Visionary of the Year' award, a category that honors icons who have understood and guided the direction of K-pop.

Director Maggie Kang of 'KDH' expressed her condolences during her acceptance speech. She stated, "I sincerely extend my condolences to those affected by the recent incident. I also want to thank the first responders working tirelessly on the scene."

She continued, "Thank you for this prestigious award. I accept it on behalf of Sony Pictures and Netflix, and all those who supported this film." Director Kang added, "I am amazed at how this film has opened the hearts of many around the world. It is a great joy to be here with you all. Consider this film a love letter to K-pop. Being here with you, I feel the strong power of this culture."

Director Kang concluded by asking the audience for permission to take a selfie, capturing the moment and drawing attention from the crowd.
