Min Hee-jin Addresses NewJeans Controversy: Emphasizes the Importance of the Group's Unity
On the 15th, lawyer Rho Young-hee shared Min's statement during a live broadcast on the YouTube channel 'Rho Young-hee TV'(@youngheefriends).
According to the statement, Min expressed, "From the beginning, the concept was designed with all five members in mind. Their appearance, sound, color, style, and movements were all structured around the 'five'. This is why people were enthusiastic, and a complete form was achieved." She continued, "NewJeans is complete with five members. Each member's unique color and sound interlock to form a perfect shape. Now that they have returned, these five should be cherished. Unnecessary disputes and interpretations are not helpful."
She further stated, "While the essence of the issue targets me, the children should not be dragged into it. They should be protected and not used. NewJeans exists as five."
Last November, NewJeans announced the termination of their exclusive contract with ADOR, citing a breach of contract. However, the court ruled that the contract between ADOR and NewJeans was valid. Although NewJeans expressed their intention to appeal, they changed their stance on the 12th, a day before the appeal deadline, deciding to return to ADOR.
During this process, members Haerin and Hyein conveyed their intention to return through discussions with their families. ADOR stated, "We respect the court's decision and have decided to adhere to the exclusive contract. We will do our best to ensure Hae-rin and Hye-in can continue their entertainment activities smoothly. We kindly ask for restraint from speculative comments about the members."
On the other hand, Minji, Hanni, and Danielle declared their return through separate channels, stating through their legal representatives that "there was no response from ADOR." ADOR is currently verifying their stance and has not officially confirmed their reunion.
