Kim Hye-soo to Host 2025 MAMA Awards: A Perfect Fit for the Global Stage

The organizers of the '2025 MAMA Awards' have revealed why they chose Kim Hye-soo as a host.

On the 11th, the '2025 MAMA Awards' press premiere took place at the CJ ENM Talent Studio in Sangam-dong, Seoul. The event was attended by Park Chan-wook, Head of the Convention Business Division, PD Lee Young-joo, and PD Ma Doo-sik.

The 2025 MAMA Awards will kick off on the 28th of this month at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong and continue until the 29th. Park Bo-gum will host the first day, while Kim Hye-soo will take the stage on the second day.

PD Lee Young-joo explained, "We have wanted to invite Kim Hye-soo as a host for a long time. We couldn't approach her earlier because she was hosting the 'Blue Dragon Film Awards,' but she recently completed her role there. When we considered who could best convey a Korean concept in Hong Kong, Kim Hye-soo came to mind."

Lee continued, "I heard a story about Kim Hye-soo calling a writer after watching a program, saying, 'Music can be incredibly moving. Thank you for creating such a stage.' That writer is now our main writer. It felt like destiny, not coincidence." He added, "Kim Hye-soo eagerly expressed her desire to join a stage that showcases the power of 'MAMA' and K-pop to the world, so we decided to collaborate."

This year's ceremony theme is 'UH-HEUNG,' symbolizing a bold declaration of embracing one's true self across various regions, races, and cultures.

Performers on the first day include Alphadriveone, Babymonster, Boynextdoor, Beomjeop, Enhypen, Heartstohearts, (G)I-DLE, IVE, Miyao, Mirror, NCT Wish, Super Junior, Treasure, and Tours. The second day will feature Aespa, Allday Project, Cortis, G-Dragon, IDIT, Izna, JO1, Kickflip, Kyoka, RIIZE, Stray Kids, Tomorrow X Together, and Zerobaseone.
