Jung Min-sung of LA POEM Completes First Solo Recital After 5 Years
On the 9th of this month, Jung Min-sung held his inaugural solo recital, 'Jung Min-sung: The Story,' at the Centennial Hall of Yonsei University in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul. This performance marked his first solo stage under the name 'Vocalist Jung Min-sung,' featuring classical masterpieces that have accompanied his musical journey, reimagined as stories of life.
The concert commenced with a grand opening of Mozart's 'The Marriage of Figaro Overture, K.492.' Jung Min-sung captivated the audience with his robust vocal power and delicate emotional expression through arias 'Hai già vinta la causa' and 'Non più andrai' from the opera 'The Marriage of Figaro.'
He further showcased his wide musical spectrum with Schubert's 'Ständchen' and Leoncavallo's 'Mattinata,' offering a different charm.
Additionally, he performed pieces like 'A Story of an Elderly Couple in Their 60s' and 'The End of Summer,' leaving the audience with warm comfort and lingering emotions. The extensive setlist, spanning from classical to Korean songs, musicals, and popular music, deeply resonated with the audience, filling the venue with applause.
After completing his first solo recital, Jung Min-sung shared, "I was very nervous as it was my first solo recital, but thinking of the fans who have been waiting for this stage for five years helped me stay focused until the end. Thanks to them, I was able to complete the performance safely, and seeing the audience enjoy it gave me a strong motivation to perform more often." He added, "Although it was a stage to share my story, the fans who have always been with me were there. I sincerely thank everyone who attended my recital."
LA POEM, the group Jung Min-sung is part of, will hold a solo concert 'LA POEM SYMPHONY In Love' on the 29th and 30th at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
