K-Pop Star Sung Si-kyung Opens Up About Betrayal and Financial Loss Due to Former Manager

On November 3rd, Sung Si-kyung took to Instagram to share his feelings, stating, "The past few months have been incredibly difficult and unbearable for me." He continued, "Experiencing a betrayal from someone I trusted and considered family is not new in my 25-year career, but it doesn't get any easier with age."
Sung expressed, "I tried to maintain my daily life and pretend everything was fine because I didn't want to worry others or fall apart. However, while fulfilling my YouTube and scheduled performances, I realized that my body, mind, and voice have suffered greatly."
He apologized for the delay in announcing his year-end concert, admitting, "Honestly, I've been questioning whether I can or should perform on stage in this situation." He added, "I want to be in a state where I can confidently say 'I'm okay' both mentally and physically."
Regarding the year-end concert, Sung assured fans, "I will make a decision and announce it by this week at the latest. As always, this too shall pass, and I'm grateful it's not too late to address it. I will do my best to get through this."
Earlier that day, a media outlet reported that Sung Si-kyung had parted ways with his manager of over a decade, resulting in financial losses due to work-related issues. The report stated that while the exact amount of the loss was not disclosed, it was significant.
Following the report, Sung Si-kyung's agency, SK Jaewon, released an official statement confirming that the former manager had breached the company's trust during their tenure. The agency acknowledged the seriousness of the situation and is currently assessing the exact extent of the financial damage. The employee in question has since left the company. The agency also expressed its responsibility for oversight and is in the process of overhauling its internal management system to prevent similar incidents in the future.
