Miyeon of the group i-dle has undergone a 180-degree image transformation driven by her passion for music.

On November 3rd, Miyeon held a media showcase at the Blue Square SOL Travel Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, to celebrate the release of her second mini album, 'My, Lover'.

Expressing her excitement about the comeback, Miyeon said, "I am grateful to have spent a happy time this year with many activities. Since it's been a while since my last comeback, I had ample time to prepare diligently. I'm looking forward to it." She added, "During my first album activities, it was the COVID-19 pandemic, so I didn't have the chance to meet fans directly. This time, I hope to see them up close."

Before the showcase, laughter erupted as Miyeon's vocal warm-ups were heard backstage. She explained, "As the main vocalist of the team, I often sang the chorus powerfully. I wanted to develop the ability to deliver a song comfortably as a singer. I practiced hard right before the showcase because I wanted to sing well, but I didn't expect everyone to hear it. I'm sorry," she laughed.

Regarding the concept of the pre-release track 'Reno', Miyeon shared, "The pre-release track was very intense for me. It's different from the music and image I've been doing, so I had a lot of concerns." She continued, "But it was a song I wanted to challenge vocally. I was worried that the visual concept might seem overwhelming or difficult to approach, but I was confident in the song itself and wanted to try it. Having handled intense images during group activities, I believed I could do it alone."

When asked whether she prefers compliments on her looks or skills, Miyeon humorously replied, "I like both. I never get tired of hearing them. If possible, I'd like to be praised for both," adding a touch of humor.

Miyeon also discussed her choice of the title track 'Say My Name'. She said, "I had a lot of worries. I felt pressure to impress the fans, which made me overthink. So, I chose a song that allows me to show my natural and comfortable self."

Regarding the continuation of her solo albums as the 'MY' series, Miyeon revealed it was a coincidence. "The first album was 'MY', and it felt special because it's my initials. As I completed each song like a puzzle, they all turned out to be about love. So, 'MY' was included again this time. It wasn't intentional from the start, but if I'm lucky enough to gather themes, I might continue the MY series. However, I don't plan to deliberately design it that way," she explained.

Miyeon shared her future aspirations, saying, "I am happiest when I sing. I hope this feeling is conveyed well. But I think it can only be conveyed if I sing well, so I'm still working hard. I want to become a singer who sings well. That's my dream. I'll continue to work hard and do my best."

Miyeon's 'My, Lover' is her first new album in three years and six months since her debut mini album 'MY' in 2022. The title track 'Say My Name' is a pop ballad that captures the lingering echo of a name even after a breakup. The pre-release track 'Reno (Feat. Colde)' quickly climbed the charts on major music platforms both domestically and internationally. Miyeon also participated in writing the lyrics for the album's tracks 'F.F.L.Y' and 'You And No One Else'.

Meanwhile, Miyeon's second mini album 'My, Lover' will be released on various music sites at 6 PM on November 3rd.
