Trot Singer Kim Eui-young Tops Poll for Winter Shopping Companion
The poll, conducted by TENASIA from the 23rd to the 29th, asked participants to choose which female trot singer they would like to shop for winter clothes with.
Kim Eui-young emerged as the top choice. She debuted as a trot singer after securing fifth place in TV Chosun's 'Miss Trot 2' in 2020. In May, she released her fourth single album 'STARTrot PART.1', produced by Kim Hyung-seok. The title track, 'Do Whatever You Want(하고 싶은 거 다 해)', is an upbeat dance trot song that showcases Kim's unique bright and refreshing energy.
Coming in second was singer Kim Da-hyun. On the 21st, Kim Da-hyun was appointed as a promotional ambassador for Cheongdo County, Gyeongsangbuk-do, alongside her father, Kim Bong-gon. The appointment ceremony took place during the closing ceremony of the 'Cheongdo Bansi Festival and World Comedy Art Festival'. Kim Bong-gon has long been dedicated to traditional etiquette education and the promotion of Korean studies, and in May, he donated 1 million won to his hometown.
Singer Hong Ji-yun secured the third spot. In April, she appeared on the variety show 'Four-Person Dining Table(4인용식탁)' and shared her journey to becoming a trot singer. She revealed, "I majored in Korean traditional music and was a former idol trainee. I injured my throat while studying traditional music and hurt my leg during practice, but I couldn't give up singing. In traditional music, you learn by ear, so I was at an advantage during competitions because memorization was familiar to me."
Currently, the TENASIA website(topten.tenasia.com) is hosting polls on topics such as 'Which male singer would you like to go skiing with?', 'Which female singer would you like to go skiing with?', 'Which male trot singer would you like to go skiing with?', and 'Which female trot singer would you like to go skiing with?'.
