Lee Chan-won Unveils His 'Brilliant' Musical Journey with Second Studio Album
On the evening of the 20th, Lee Chan-won will release his second studio album 'Brilliant (燦爛)' on various music streaming platforms, marking the beginning of a new musical journey.
'Brilliant (燦爛)' is his first full-length album in two years since his debut album 'ONE'. True to its name, the album captures the radiant musical world of Lee Chan-won. It features 12 tracks, including the title track 'Somehow Today', and spans genres from pop-style country to ballads rich with autumnal emotion. With his warm voice, Lee delivers messages of comfort, confession, nostalgia, and hope.
The title track 'Somehow Today' is a traditional country song composed by Jo Young-soo with lyrics by Roy Kim. It marks Lee Chan-won's first foray into the pop-style country genre. The easy-listening melody is designed for all generations to hum along, combining Roy Kim's charming lyrics with Lee's bright and positive energy, hinting at the birth of a 'national sing-along song'.
In addition, Lee explores various genres with tracks like 'Fallen Leaves, You and I', 'First Love', and 'Rock and Roll Life', delivering messages that resonate across generations. Songs like 'I Told You', 'Mother's Spring Day', and 'Don't Leave Me' showcase his delicate emotional expression and mature vocal prowess as a balladeer, further expanding his musical spectrum. With the British soft rock-based 'My Long Journey' and 'Shining Star', co-written by Lee, he shares his personal stories, proving his worth as an 'all-rounder artist'.
The album boasts an impressive lineup of contributors. Composer Jo Young-soo took charge of the overall production, enhancing the album's quality. Renowned artists such as Roy Kim, Kim Eana, Rocoberry, Lee Yoo-jin, Han Gil, Five Talents, and Lee Kyu-hyung participated, elevating the album's completeness.
Previously, Lee Chan-won achieved top chart positions and won two music show awards with his first studio album 'ONE' in 2023 and his mini-album 'bright;燦' in 2024. Expectations are high for the new journey he will showcase with his second studio album 'Brilliant (燦爛)'.
