DAY6 Celebrates 10th Anniversary with New Album 'The DECADE' and JYP Contract Renewal

DAY6 has renewed their contract with JYP Entertainment as they approach their 10th anniversary.

Their fourth studio album, released nearly six years after their last full album 'The Book of Us: Entropy' in October 2019, is titled 'The DECADE,' symbolizing their 10-year journey.

On October 4, DAY6 released a teaser for their new music video 'INSIDE OUT' on their official social media channels, generating excitement among their fans, known as My Day. The teaser features a powerful melody and candid lyrics, heightening anticipation for the full music video.

The album 'The DECADE' includes 10 tracks, featuring the title songs 'Bus of Dreams' and 'INSIDE OUT,' along with 'Don't Let the Sun Rise,' 'Disco Day,' 'My Way,' 'In Front of the Stars,' 'Take All My Heart,' 'Fly! Dream Rider,' 'Finally Ending,' and 'Our Season.'

Ahead of their 10th anniversary on September 7, 2025, DAY6 has renewed their contract with JYP Entertainment, promising continued collaboration and support for the band members Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon, as well as their fans.

To commemorate the release of 'The DECADE,' the four members of DAY6 shared their thoughts on the new album.

Q. 'The DECADE' is your first full album in nearly six years and marks your 10th anniversary. How do you feel about this comeback, and what does this album mean to DAY6?

Sungjin: When creating music, I always strive to do my best, regardless of the album format. I'm just grateful to still be making music 10 years after our debut. This album will be remembered as a special 10th-anniversary album for me.

Young K: It's a chance to reflect on the past 10 years and the beginning of a new chapter. I'm grateful to everyone who has been with us on this journey and excited for the future.

Wonpil: It's amazing to reach our 10th anniversary with my bandmates. 'The DECADE' will be a meaningful album that we can look back on in the future.

Dowoon: This album feels like a party with my bandmates and our fans, My Day, after 10 years.

Q. What led to the decision to release double title tracks for the first time? Why were 'Bus of Dreams' and 'INSIDE OUT' chosen, and was there a moment when you knew they should be the title tracks?

Sungjin: We weren't certain which songs would be best, but we wanted to showcase both the classic DAY6 sound with 'Bus of Dreams' and a new challenge with 'INSIDE OUT.'

Young K: The two title tracks have contrasting yet strong appeals. 'Bus of Dreams' embodies our dreams, while 'INSIDE OUT' showcases our diverse colors.

Wonpil: During the songwriting process, 'Bus of Dreams' felt the most like us, while 'INSIDE OUT' was an adventurous track. The contrasting genres offer a rich listening experience.

Q. 'Bus of Dreams' is about holding onto dreams despite life's challenges. Is there a dream you never want to let go of?

Sungjin: DAY6 itself is my dream, past, present, and future.
Young K: My dream is 'happiness' and 'hope.' Even when life gets tough, I'll hold onto them.

Wonpil: Creating good music as DAY6 and showing my best as Kim Wonpil are dreams I never want to let go of.

Dowoon: My dream is simple. I never want to lose DAY6.

Q. 'INSIDE OUT' is about boldly expressing your feelings. What would you like to boldly say to your bandmates?

Sungjin: Thank you for being with me. Let's stay healthy and happy!

Young K: Thank you for coming this far together. Let's live more comfortably now.

Wonpil: We've reached our 10th anniversary. Thank you, sorry, and I love you!

Dowoon: Stay healthy, everyone.

Q. You've been called a band that sings about every moment. Which song from the new album resonates with you the most, and are there new stories or genres you want to explore?

Sungjin: We're working towards being a band that sings about every moment. I love 'Our Season' the most from this album. Music remains exciting because we don't know what we'll create next.

Young K: 'Our Season' resonates with me. It might be the story I've always wanted to tell. I'm eager to explore many new genres.

Wonpil: I choose 'Our Season.' It was comforting during the recording process. I'd like to try a song that combines band sound with EDM.

Dowoon: 'Bus of Dreams' is my pick. Singing with My Day always brings me joy.

Q. You've achieved many milestones, including your first solo outdoor concert. How did it feel, and do you have a dream venue for future performances?

Sungjin: The solo concert felt like a gift from My Day. I'm grateful for every moment with them. Any place with DAY6 and My Day is perfect.

Young K: I was excited to perform with so many My Day. I hope everyone left with cherished memories.

Wonpil: Every moment since our return has been unbelievable. Performing at outdoor venues was a dream come true, thanks to My Day.

Dowoon: My Day made it possible for us to perform on big stages. I want to give my best performance wherever we are.

Q. Celebrating your 10th anniversary, what moments stand out, and what are your aspirations for the next decade?

Sungjin: Moments with My Day are the most memorable. I want to continue on a path where everyone is healthy and happy.

Young K: I hope these days are the most memorable. I want to pursue new music and live comfortably.

Wonpil: The end-of-year concert in 2023 stands out. I'm grateful for everyone who made it possible. I want to keep creating music and be recognized for it.

Dowoon: Reuniting with the members after four years is unforgettable. I want to enjoy music while staying healthy.

Q. What project were you most excited to see My Day's reaction to?

Sungjin: The double title tracks. I'm curious which song they'll prefer.

Young K: The concert. I was excited to share the setlist and hear My Day's voices.

Wonpil: The concert. We've grown through concerts, and this one was especially meaningful.

Q. What was DAY6's dream 10 years ago, and how does it compare to now? What would you say to yourself and DAY6 after 10 years?

Sungjin: Our dream was to make music happily with others. "You've worked hard, let's keep going."

Young K: The journey was different, but we've reached our dream. "Well done."

Wonpil: I dreamed of the 'now' where our music is loved. "Let's not rush and stay healthy together."

Dowoon: My goal was to stay grounded. "Let's keep doing well."

Q. Over 10 years, what has changed the most, and what remains the same?

Sungjin: My appearance has changed, but my love for people remains.

Young K: My skills have improved, but my core remains the same.

Wonpil: I've learned to value people more. My desire to create good music hasn't changed.

Dowoon: I've come to know myself better. My bandmates and My Day remain constant.

Q. How would you describe My Day in one word, and what message would you like to convey to them?

Sungjin: 'Friend.' Thank you for always being with us. Stay healthy and happy!

Young K: 'Love.' Thank you for everything. I hope you live well. I love you.

Wonpil: My Day is a 'life partner.' We couldn't move forward without you. Thank you and sorry. Let's walk together for a long time.

Dowoon: I'm filled with gratitude for My Day. I hope we've been a source of strength. We want to be your 'friend.'
