Park Dong-gyu's Dramatic Survival on 'BOYS II PLANET': A Heartfelt Thanks to Roommate Han Harry June

In a dramatic turn of events, Park Dong-gyu, born in 2005 and under IST Entertainment, emerged as the final survivor on Mnet's 'BOYS II PLANET.' He expressed deep gratitude towards his roommate, former DKB member Han Harry June.

The second survival announcement aired on the September 4th episode of 'BOYS II PLANET,' which also revealed the second ranking results. The show, based on the second mission and global voting, held a live-streamed survival announcement on August 29th, capturing the attention of global star creators. The event peaked at 189,000 concurrent viewers and amassed approximately 800,000 total views, generating significant buzz. Park Dong-gyu, Han Harry June, and Pan Zheyi were contenders for the 24th spot.

Han Harry June faced elimination early on due to limited screen time. He narrowly survived the first ranking announcement, placing 47th out of 48. As the leader of the 'like JENNIE' team, alongside Lee Sang-won, Xu Qingyu, Kim Jun-min, and Jung Hyun-jun, he delivered a high-quality performance, raising his rank to 24th by the end of the sixth episode. However, his position remained precarious, leading to another survival challenge.

Ultimately, Han Harry June ranked 26th, with Fan Zhe Yi at 25th and Park Dong-gyu securing the 24th spot. Previously, Park Dong-gyu prepared for the 'Bad - Christopher' stage in the position battle but missed out on the killing part, which went to Kim Jun-seo from WEi. Despite his debut experience and leadership role, Kim Jun-seo lacked choreography skills.

Park Dong-gyu took charge of creating the entire stage choreography under Kim Jun-seo's direction, enhancing the performance's quality. However, Kim Jun-seo, who handled the killing part, received the most attention, leading to Park Dong-gyu being at risk of elimination.

In a miraculous twist, Park Dong-gyu was announced as the 24th finalist. ATEEZ's San, the Planet Master, shared, "Just 10 hours ago, he wasn't even a candidate for the final survivor, but his ranking surged post-broadcast, allowing him to survive dramatically."

Reflecting on his journey, Park Dong-gyu tearfully recalled his roommate Han Harry June, with whom he competed for the last survivor spot. He confessed, "I've been holding back tears because of him. I want to thank him for boosting my confidence and supporting me during tough times while preparing for the stage."
