K-Pop Group NOWZ Tops Chinese Music Charts with Support from (G)I-DLE's Yuqi

K-pop group NOWZ has claimed the number one spot on the Chinese music charts, thanks to the support of (G)I-DLE's Yuqi.

On November 9, NOWZ held a media showcase at the YES24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, to celebrate the release of their first mini-album, 'IGNITION.'

The album features the pre-released single 'Fly Freely (Feat. Yuqi (YUQI)),' a track that captures the struggles and growth of youth. Yuqi, a senior artist from the same label, contributed to the lyrics, composition, featuring, and production of the song.

During the event, member Siyoon expressed gratitude, saying, "We were fortunate to receive a song from senior artists Yuqi and Pentagon's Wooseok. They personally directed us during the recording, and we worked passionately together until dawn to create a great result." Hyunbin added humorously, "The most memorable thing the seniors said was, 'You guys are really handsome.'"

The Chinese version of the song topped the new song chart on China's QQ Music. Yoon shared, "When we heard the news, all five of us couldn't believe it, and we were thrilled. Thank you for loving the Chinese version," expressing gratitude in Chinese.

The title track 'EVERGLOW' is an alternative rock song that blends refreshing electric guitar and metal sounds. It conveys a message of unwavering determination, like a flame that never extinguishes, even in ashes, showcasing NOWZ's intense charm. Under the guidance of main producer EL CAPITXN, who has worked on numerous hit songs, members Jinhyuk and Siyoon participated in rap-making.

Meanwhile, Jeon Soyeon, known for her work on (G)I-DLE's songs, previously revealed on various entertainment programs that her monthly royalties reached 1 billion KRW. She noted that Yuqi's earnings in China are even higher, highlighting Yuqi's popularity in the country.

NOWZ's first mini-album 'IGNITION' will be released on various music sites at 6 PM today.
