On October 9th, the Recording Academy extended invitations to artists such as Beomgyu, Zico, SEVENTEEN's Woozi and Vernon, TXT's Yeonjun, ENHYPEN's Jungwon, LE SSERAFIM's Huh Yunjin, and KATSEYE, along with producers Slow Rabbit, Supreme Boi, and Wonderkid, to become new voting members.
The Recording Academy is a prestigious organization representing the voices of music professionals, including artists, songwriters, producers, and engineers. Established in 1957, it has been organizing the Grammy Awards since 1959. Voting members have the privilege to participate in selecting Grammy Award winners. The new members will have voting rights starting from the 68th Grammy Awards, scheduled for February 1st next year. They will also have opportunities to engage in various events and express their opinions.
Each year, the Recording Academy selects new member candidates through peer evaluations by existing members. Those who are nominated undergo the necessary procedures to join as new members. From HYBE, Chairman Bang Si-hyuk, the seven members of BTS, and producer Pdogg are already active as voting members.
HYBE stated, "The selection of new members by the Recording Academy demonstrates the expanded influence of K-pop in the global music industry and the high standing of HYBE Music Group's artists and producers. We will continue to expand our membership in the Recording Academy and provide full support for the global growth of our artists and producers."
