NewJeans Express Longing for Fans Amid Legal Battle

On the 4th, NewJeans members shared a heartfelt message on the Instagram story of the account 'mhdhh_friends', stating, "I read the letters yesterday and it made me feel so good," and "I missed you, so I just came by," accompanied by a photo.
The photo shows a NewJeans member creating a shadow cat on a track field, a trend that has recently gained popularity. Despite being on a 74-day hiatus, the members seem to be receiving encouragement from fans' letters, drawing attention.
NewJeans began their independent activities last November and announced their group name as 'NJZ' in February. In response, their agency, ADOR, filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of their exclusive contract and requested an injunction to prevent the group from signing advertising contracts.
In March, the Seoul Central District Court accepted the injunction, ruling that NewJeans should not engage in independent activities. The members filed an objection, but it was also dismissed.
Due to the court's decision, the members declared an indefinite hiatus from activities under the name NJZ and appealed the decision. However, on the 29th of last month, the court accepted ADOR's request for indirect enforcement against NewJeans.
The court stated that NewJeans must not engage in entertainment activities without ADOR's prior approval or consent until the first trial verdict of the exclusive contract validity lawsuit is announced. If violated, they must pay 1 billion KRW per violation to ADOR.
Meanwhile, NewJeans and ADOR are scheduled for the second hearing of the exclusive contract lawsuit on the 5th of next month.
