K-pop group i-dle has ramped up the excitement for their comeback with the release of a new music video.

On the 9th, Cube Entertainment unveiled the music video for 'Girlfriend,' a track from i-dle's 8th mini-album 'We are,' through their official social media channels. The song, an electro-pop track, was written and composed by the group's leader Soyeon. It offers comfort to a friend going through a breakup, featuring witty lyrics like 'Your girlfriend is better than a boyfriend,' a lively melody, and a catchy chorus that invites sing-alongs.

Set against the backdrop of Paris, a city of freedom and liberation, the music video portrays the members as allies to a friend in need. Soyeon is seen chasing a bus, Minnie drags a large trash can, and Yuqi closes the trunk of a crashed car. In subsequent scenes, Miyeon walks away from a police car, while Shuhua sits expressionless in the backseat of another, adding tension to the narrative. The mystery deepens with a shoe falling from the trash can and another caught in the trunk.

During the day, the members are seen tracking mysterious men with notebooks, while at night, they express the song's energy by partying in clubs or racing through the streets. The storyline concludes with the police arriving to find their friends.

The mini-album 'We are' includes a total of six tracks: 'Girlfriend,' 'Good Thing,' 'Love Tease,' 'Chain,' 'Unstoppable,' and '그래도 돼요.' The album is set to be officially released on the 19th.
