Singer and actor Lee Seung-gi, who recently announced his decision to cut ties with his in-laws, is making a long-awaited return to the music scene.

Lee Seung-gi, known for his diverse roles as an actor, entertainer, and MC, is reaffirming his identity as a singer with the release of his digital single 'Jungri' on the 7th.

Excluding OSTs and his 20th-anniversary album, 'Jungri' marks Lee Seung-gi's first new song in four years and five months since his 7th studio album released in December 2020.

The new single 'Jungri' showcases a matured musical world of Lee Seung-gi. It is a ballad that delicately expresses the process of reminiscing and organizing memories of a past relationship, capturing the universal emotions experienced after a breakup. The lyrical string sounds, beginning with a cello line, combined with Lee Seung-gi's deeply resonant vocals, deliver a profound impact.

'Jungri' holds special significance as Lee Seung-gi personally participated in writing, composing, and arranging the song. Drawing from his extensive musical experience, he conveys his deepened emotions and messages through this track.

This digital single is noteworthy as it is his first new release since the 20th-anniversary album 'With' last year. Through 'With,' Lee Seung-gi reflected on his musical journey and revisited his roots. With 'Jungri,' he is set to embark on a more active phase in his music career.

In April 2023, Lee Seung-gi married Lee Da-in, an actress and the younger sister of actress Lee Yoo-bi. Last month, Lee Seung-gi publicly announced his decision to sever ties with his in-laws, who are embroiled in stock manipulation allegations. He stated, "Despite a fine being imposed in the retrial for the ongoing legal issues involving my father-in-law, recent similar illegal activities have led to further prosecution. This incident has irreparably damaged the trust within our family, and after much deliberation, my wife and I have decided to cut ties with my in-laws."

Lee Seung-gi's new single 'Jungri' will be officially released on all online music platforms at 6 PM today.
