Teen Top's Niel Reflects on 'No More Perfume on You' as He Returns with Solo Album 'SHE'

Niel, a member of the K-pop group Teen Top, reminisces about the time when he sang 'No More Perfume on You' as he makes a comeback as a solo artist.

On the 18th, Niel held a press interview at a café in Gangnam, Seoul, to celebrate the release of his fourth mini-album 'SHE'.

Teen Top's 2011 hit 'No More Perfume on You' has recently resurfaced online, sparking discussions. Niel commented, "It's nice that it's being talked about again, but the lyrics are a bit embarrassing," he said with a sheepish smile. He emphasized, "When we sang that song, all the members were minors, and we didn't really understand the lyrics. We truly didn't know and didn't sing it with full comprehension."

At the time of the song's release, Niel was only 16 years old. He shared, "With lyrics mentioning 'glitter', 'perfume', and 'noona, noona', I thought it was a song targeting the hearts of older women. As I grew older and performed it at concerts or in acoustic versions, I realized more about it," he said, evoking laughter. He added, "Actress Park Si-yeon appeared in the music video, which was fascinating, but I didn't grasp the content." Despite this, he expressed affection for the song, calling it "embarrassing but delightful."

'SHE' marks Niel's return with a mini-album after two and a half years. The title track 'SHE' features groovy rhythms and soulful guitar, with Niel's deep vocals flowing freely with the emotions. The melody, which balances restraint and explosive expression, adds to the song's poignant atmosphere.

The new album includes six tracks: the title track 'SHE', 'Sapé', 'The Meaning Within Love', 'If you're the ocean', 'What's the Excuse for Love?', and 'SHE (Inst.)'.

Niel's fourth mini-album 'SHE' and its music video will be released on the 22nd at 6 PM.
