Having completed his military service last October, J-Hope is set to charm listeners with his sweet vocals in his first post-service release. The track was first revealed during the 'HOPE ON STAGE in SEOUL' event held at KSPO DOME in Seoul from October 28 to November 2.

Previously known for his intense hip-hop beats in solo tracks like 'on the street,' 'Arson,' and 'MORE,' J-Hope's new song takes a different direction with a pop R&B genre. The song features a warm vocal delivery without rap, accompanied by simple choreography.

J-Hope explained, "After my discharge, I pondered what kind of music I should create. Love is a simple emotion, yet it seems lacking in today's world. I realized I hadn't made a proper love song before, so I worked hard to create 'Sweet Dreams (feat. Miguel).'"

In contrast, Jennie has chosen a more intense hip-hop genre for the title track of her album 'Ruby,' compared to her pre-released songs. On October 27, she shared an official album sampler video on her YouTube channel 'JENNIE,' which included a 16-second clip of the title track 'Like JENNIE.'

While her previous collaboration with rapper Doechii on 'ExtraL' was also a hip-hop track, Jennie has added more elaborate bass elements and complex chorus vocals in her new release. This marks a departure from her previous tracks like 'Mantra,' 'ZEN,' and 'Love Hangover.'

An industry insider commented, "Since this is J-Hope's first release after his discharge, he likely needed to connect with the audience more familiarly. A sweet love song has the advantage of being more soothing to both domestic and international listeners compared to intense hip-hop."

The insider added, "Jennie has chosen a commercially appealing pre-release track. This strategy of expressing her identity strongly with the subsequent title track can be a good move as an artist."
