ADOR Expands Injunction Against NewJeans Amidst Growing Activities

On the 6th, ADOR stated, "While the 'injunction to preserve agency status and prohibit advertising contracts' is ongoing, NewJeans has expanded their activities with new song releases and major overseas performances. Therefore, we have inevitably expanded the scope of the injunction." They emphasized, "This is not to restrict their activities but to encourage them to work 'together with ADOR' and 'in compliance with the contract.'"
They further clarified, "As we have already stated, we have never pressured concert organizers, nor is the expansion of the injunction a retaliatory measure."
On the same day, NewJeans' parents claimed, "ADOR has expanded the injunction request as of February 11, 2025, to prohibit not only advertising but also all musical activities of NJZ, including songwriting, composing, performing, and singing, as well as all other ancillary activities."
They mentioned the upcoming Hong Kong Complex concert, stating, "This occurred shortly after we received news that Chairman Bang Si-hyuk had pressured Complex concert officials, leading us to believe this decision was made as a retaliatory measure after attempts to cancel the concert were thwarted."
They added, "While ADOR publicly claims to only take issue with NJZ's advertising activities to prevent confusion among fans and advertisers, they are actually asking the court to prohibit all of NJZ's entertainment activities. This seems to be an attempt to infringe on NJZ's freedom of occupation while avoiding public criticism by not disclosing it."
The first hearing for the injunction case filed by ADOR against NewJeans is scheduled for the morning of the 7th at the Seoul Central District Court. ADOR stated, "We aim to clarify various misunderstandings about the artist in court tomorrow and seek a judgment affirming ADOR as NewJeans' agency, which many members are awaiting."
