EVNNE Returns with New Album 'HOT MESS', Embracing Pop Rock and Positive Energy
On the 10th, EVNNE held a showcase at the Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, to celebrate the release of their fourth mini-album 'HOT MESS'.
The group, featuring members Yoo Seung-eon and Park Ji-hoo, broke their 8-month hiatus with the title track 'HOT MESS', which they co-wrote. Yoo Seung-eon expressed gratitude for the opportunity to infuse the song with EVNNE's unique style, describing it as a playful and free-spirited track. Park Ji-hoo added that they ventured into the pop rock genre, aiming for a fun and unconventional lyrical approach.
Moon Jung-hyun recommended the title track for its message of enjoying chaos, suggesting it as a comforting listen during tough times. Yoo Seung-eon highlighted the choreography's departure from their usual synchronized style, focusing instead on expressing positive energy through a more relaxed performance.
Despite challenges, EVNNE's new approach has led to a more polished stage presence. Lee Jung-hyun explained that the chorus choreography was more spontaneous, aiming to convey a sense of freedom and positivity. Park Han-bin expressed confidence in their ability to embody the 'enjoyment' mood, despite initial struggles.
Yoo Seung-eon joked about the challenge of surpassing the golf term 'even' and now the catchphrase from 'Black and White Chef', while Moon Jung-hyun admitted initial confusion but saw the trend as an opportunity for increased visibility.
EVNNE will hold their first solo concert on April 5-6 at Yes24 Live Hall, promising diverse and impressive performances. The group emphasized their hands-on approach in creating an artist-driven stage.
The album includes six tracks: 'HOT MESS', 'Birthday', 'Love Like That', 'CROWN', 'Youth', and '景色 (KESHIKI) (Korean Ver.)'.
EVNNE's fourth mini-album 'HOT MESS' is set to release at 6 PM today.
