Kim Sung-kyu Concludes Asia Tour with Spectacular Performances in Hong Kong
Singer Kim Sung-kyu wrapped up his Asia tour with a grand finale in Hong Kong.
On August 31 and September 1, Kim Sung-kyu concluded his solo concert '[LV] 3' (Let's Vacay) Asia tour with performances at the MacPherson Stadium in Hong Kong.
Following the themes of '[LV] 1' (Light & Voice) in 2022 and '[LV] 2' (LIKE YOUR VIBES) last year, this year's '[LV] 3' concert, short for 'Let's Vacay,' garnered attention for its unique interpretation of the same title. Kim Sung-kyu kicked off '[LV] 3' with a spectacular start in Seoul on August 3 and 4, and continued to share special moments with global fans in five Asian cities, including Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, and Hong Kong. Kim Sung-kyu opened the concert with 'DIVIN',' a refreshing and exciting performance that matched the summer vacation theme of 'Let's Vacay.' He continued with 'Shine' and 'Ready To Go,' greeting the audience warmly in the local language.
He performed a series of hit songs loved by global fans, including 'Because,' '41 Days,' 'Sometimes,' 'It Has To Be You,' 'Sentimental,' 'Sorry,' 'Till Sunrise,' 'Climax,' 'Small Talk,' '60 Seconds,' 'Go Again,' 'Savior,' and 'It Will Be.'
Additionally, he presented special stages exclusive to '[LV] 3,' including 'Jump,' a song he wrote for INFINITE and their official fan club INSPIRIT, the fan songs 'Must' and 'Fog,' and an acoustic version of the unreleased track 'CLOSER.'
Kim Sung-kyu also promoted his upcoming solo web variety show 'Tour Fairy,' set to premiere on September 5, and expressed his excitement for the musical 'Kinky Boots,' opening on September 7. He hinted at more exciting news before the end of the year.
Returning to Hong Kong after about a year and two months since '[LV] 2,' Kim Sung-kyu delivered an upgraded performance with '[LV] 3,' showcasing his refreshing vocals, impeccable live performance, and artistic direction, reaffirming his status as a 'luxury vocalist.'
At the end of the concert, local fans surprised Kim Sung-kyu by singing the '[LV]' official summoning song 'Kontrol' instead of chanting for an encore. The fans' perfect chorus, despite the language barrier, was a remarkable sight.
Kim Sung-kyu reappeared in a small phone booth and continued singing 'Kontrol' a cappella, providing an extraordinary fan service. He performed various songs, including 'My Everyday Is You,' 'You,' 'Reply,' and 'Attraction,' and responded to fans' encore requests with 'Stay,' 'Daydream,' 'True Love,' and 'My Day,' ending the concert with high energy.
Kim Sung-kyu expressed his gratitude through his agency, Billions, saying, 'I return with great strength from the Hong Kong fans. I learned and felt a lot through this tour. I sincerely thank everyone who supported '[LV] 3,' and I will always strive to deliver the best performances.'
Kim Sung-kyu will premiere his solo web variety show 'Tour Fairy' on the YouTube channel M드로메다 Studio on September 5. He will also star as Charlie in the musical 'Kinky Boots,' running from September 7 to November 10 at the Blue Square Shinhan Card Hall in Seoul.
