100,000 tickets sold out… IU confidently proves her status as a top soloist
Singer IU's 2024 world tour encore concert has sold out, captivating an audience of approximately 100,000 people.
Her agency EDAM Entertainment announced on the 16th, "IU will be holding the '2024 IU HEREH WORLD TOUR CONCERT ENCORE: THE WINNING' on September 21st and 22nd at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, and all tickets were sold out through the pre-sale for the 7th generation of the official fan club 'UAENA' on the 12th and the general sale on the 14th."
This encore concert 'THE WINNING' is 'the final chapter of the journey towards victory' and the moment that concludes IU's world tour, in which she became the first domestic solo artist to tour 18 cities over 5 months and breathe closely with her fans, so it has garnered a lot of attention from early on.
As the world tour finale was announced at a concert hall with the largest seating capacity ever, the atmosphere was heated from the ticket sales. On the day of the advance ticket sales and the next day, the number of searches for 'IU' on the global portal site Google's daily popular search terms increased by 100% compared to usual, and the search volume for 'IU concert' skyrocketed by 400%, entering the top ranks. The search interest graph for general ticket sales also rose sharply from 7:32 PM, and reached a high of 100 at 7:57 PM.
In particular, in the teaser video released on the 12th, scenes where IU is holding a 'golden bat' and aiming it at the sky, and scenes where 'Holcsi' is falling like snow, garnered much attention. These were reminiscent of the music videos for 'Shopper' and 'Holcsi', the title tracks of the 6th mini-album 'The Winning' released this year, and led to heated speculations from fans in and outside of Korea. IU's unexpected appearance at the end further raised expectations for the actual performance.
IU is creating a new history in the domestic performance industry as a female artist by gathering over 100,000 audience members over the two days of ticket sales for this concert.
It is also said that they are putting all their efforts into lawn management as a large crowd will gather at the venue on the day of the performance. In addition to strictly following the ground usage manual provided in advance, they are also providing advance education on precautions and codes of conduct that all staff members must be familiar with and follow.
In addition, we are continuously consulting and actively cooperating with various relevant personnel to maintain the best condition in the performance hall, such as by installing a lawn guard with holes for ventilation and watering, and dismantling the seats on the day and immediately after the Sunday performance ends.
With this concert, IU becomes the first female musician to enter both of Korea's largest concert halls: Jamsil Main Stadium and Seoul World Cup Stadium.
