An official told Ten Asia, "Jeon So-mi decided to appear in 'I-Land 2' due to her relationship with producer Teddy, the CEO of her agency The Black Label." However, what role he will play in 'I-Land 2' is kept secret.

Jeon So-mi appeared on Mnet's 'Produce 101', which aired from January to April 2016, and took first place, making a spectacular debut as a member of the group I.O.I.

Afterwards, he joined Teddy's The Black Label and officially debuted as a solo singer through his first digital single 'BIRTHDAY'.
