Tang Wei appears in IU's new song MV following BTS V
The agency EDAM Entertainment uploaded the music video teaser video for 'Shh..', a song included in IU's 6th mini album 'The Winning', through the official SNS channel at midnight on the 12th to 13th.
The teaser released on this day begins with the letters SHH,, displayed on a red background. IU has short black hair and is looking up at somewhere. Next, a scene appears of Tang Wei leaning his face on the car steering wheel and looking out the car window.
The screen switches to black and white, and the two people open the wooden floor under what appears to be a house, and the subtitle 'THERE WAS A SONG' appears. At the end of the video, IU looks at the camera and the phrase “The name is Shh” appears.
Even though it is a short teaser, the visual beauty captures the sensuous and sophisticated mood and the aura of the characters. Although it is only a fleeting moment, the passionate performance of the two people's eyes attracted attention. In particular, she is an actress who has been recognized for her acting skills in numerous works in this music video, and won the <43rd Blue Dragon Film Awards Best Actress Award> in 2022 and the <59th Baeksang Arts Awards Best Actress Award in the Film Category> in 2023 for the movie 'Decision to Break Up'. In addition to receiving awards, the appearance of Tang Wei, who is active on the global stage, garnered even more attention. This is the first time that 'Tang Wei' has appeared in a domestic music video.
Tang Wei said through IU’s agency, “The reason for appearing is simple. It's because I like artist IU. Like everyone else, I like IU's talent, personality, and singing. “This is my first time appearing in a music video during my entertainment career, and I was happy to work with IU and was able to learn a lot from the scene,” he said.
What aroused more curiosity were the two characters in the music video. After filming the music video, Tang Wei said, "It was a very interesting relationship, with IU acting as both my mother and my friend," raising expectations about what kind of story they would portray.
When the track list was revealed, the song 'Shh..' attracted attention when it was announced that Roller Coaster member and singer-songwriter Jo Won-seon and NewJeans member Hye-in would feature, and someone from Question Mark would provide special narration.
