NewJeans won 6 categories, including 2 grand prizes, at 'AAA', becoming the most accolades of all time.
NewJeans (Minzy, Hani, Daniel, Haerin, Hyein) won the grand prize categories of 'Singer of the Year' and 'Song of the Year' at the '2023 AAA' held at the Philippine Arena in Manila on the 14th (local time). They won 6 trophies including ‘Fabulous’, ‘Best Choice’, ‘Asian Celebrity’, and ‘Hot Trend’. NewJeans is the first artist to win more than six awards at this awards ceremony. They won the 'Performance of the Year' award last year, their first year of debut, and are continuing the 'New Genes Syndrome' by receiving the grand prize for two consecutive years.
After winning 'Singer of the Year', NewJeans said, "This is my second time attending 'AAA' and I never imagined that I would receive two grand prizes. The first person that comes to mind is, of course, Bunnies (fandom name). We are the first to debut. I am grateful to the members who have always supported and given me strength from the beginning to now. I am also very grateful to the members who have always given each other strength and said many kind words. As I have received such a big award, I will repay you with better music and stages in the future. “I will become NewJeans who can do it,” he said.
After winning the 'Song of the Year' trophy, they said, "This year is the Year of the Rabbit, and at the start of 2023, I told the Bunnies, 'I want to make this year the year of New Genes.' This year, thankfully, I had the opportunity to perform in front of the Bunnies. “There were a lot of us, and we were always together this year, so I think it was the ‘Year of NewJeans’ in that sense. I hope many people can laugh and be comforted by our songs,” he said.
NewJeans, who won the most awards in 'AAA' history, showed off their diverse charms by performing 'OMG', 'ETA', and 'Super Shy', and the audience enjoyed the stage together by singing along loudly. Starting with Hani's powerful performance, the five members opened the stage spectacularly with clean and disciplined movements.
