BTS Jimin's first solo album title song 'Like Crazy' received platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America

BTS Jimin achieved another achievement with the title song 'Like Crazy' from his first solo album 'FACE'.

According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on the 1st (local time), Jimin's 'Like Crazy' sold more than 1 million units and received 'Platinum' certification.

RIAA awards certifications based on digital single and album sales by dividing them into Gold (500,000 units or more), Platinum (1 million units or more), Multi-Platinum (2 million units or more), and Diamond (10 million units or more). Unit counting is done by weighting album (physical/digital) sales, digital downloads, audio and video streaming, etc.

'Like Crazy' is a song that contrasts with Jimin's mournful tone that expresses empty emotions, although the melody is cheerful with the strong synth and drum sounds.

Jimin created a huge stir around the world by setting the record as the first K-pop solo singer with his first solo album 'FACE'. With 'Like Crazy', he entered and reached the top of the US Billboard main song chart 'Hot 100' (as of April 8), becoming the first Korean solo artist to take first place on the 'Hot 100'. In addition, 'FACE' sold more than 1 million copies on the Hanteo Chart on the first day of release, becoming the first K-pop solo artist album to become a 'million seller' on the first day of release.

'Like Crazy' ranked 3rd in the 'Global Top K-Pop Songs of the Year' category in the '2023 Wrapped Year-End Summary' campaign announced by Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform, on November 30, and ranked 3rd on Billboard's latest chart. (as of December 2), it is still very popular, ranking 59th in 'Global (excluding the US)' and 109th in 'Global 200' for 35 consecutive weeks.
