BTS Jungkook, golden run
In the latest (as of November 3) Daily Top Songs Global released by Spotify, the world's largest streaming company, on the 4th (Korean time), Jungkook's title song 'Standing Next to You' from his solo album 'GOLDEN' ranked 6,472,019 times. It was streamed and ranked second.
Solo single 'Seven (feat. Latto)' regained first place, and '3D (feat. Jack Harlow)' rebounded to 7th place. In addition, ‘Hate You’ (#16), ‘Yes or No’ (#18), ‘Please Don’t Change (feat. DJ Snake)’ (#23), ‘Closer to You (feat. Major Lazer)’ 7 new songs included in the album, including (24th), 'Somebody' (27th), 'Shot Glass of Tears' (28th), and 'Too Sad to Dance' (29th), entered 'Daily Top Song Global' .
In particular, the songs included in 'GOLDEN' were played a total of 39,653,740 times on the day of release (the 3rd). This is a new record for the most streaming for a K-pop solo singer's album based on the date of chart entry. The most streamed K-pop group album based on the date of chart entry is BTS' anthology album 'Proof' (more than 47,565,917 views) released last year, and Jungkook holds the best record not only as a team but also as a solo artist, leading to global music. It has proven its remarkable presence in the market.
'GOLDEN' ranked first in Japan's Oricon 'Daily Album Ranking' with sales of 205,961 copies. Additionally, in the 'Daily Digital Single Ranking', the eight new songs included in the album were evenly ranked in the 'Top 15', including 'Standing Next to You' which took the top spot.
'GOLDEN', which was released at 1 PM on the 3rd, exceeded 2 million copies sold in 5 hours on Hanteo Chart, a domestic album sales statistics site, and went straight to becoming a 'double million seller', becoming the first K-pop solo singer to become a K-pop solo singer with sales on the day of release alone. It set a new record for album sales in the first week after release.
