"Iconic debut"... Zero Base One, featured on the cover of a famous British magazine
Zero Base One (Sung Han-bin, Kim Ji-woong, Jang Ha-oh, Seok Matthew, Kim Tae-rae, Ricky, Kim Kyu-bin, Park Gun-wook, Han Yu-jin), who released their debut album 'YOUTH IN THE SHADE' on the 10th, recently appeared in a famous British magazine. I met with Vanity Teen and talked about various things.
Benetti Tin posted an interview on the official Twitter and said, “Zero Base One made the most iconic debut. But this is just the beginning.” Prior to the interview, Bennett Teen highlighted their influence, saying that Zero Base One is "one of the groups that will be the first milestone to show the hidden potential of 5th generation K-POP."
Regarding the formation of a team called Zero Base One, Park Gun-wook said, “I think the biggest strength and characteristic of each member is that they have different personalities. Friends from different backgrounds gathered together and worked hard to achieve harmony, and we all came together with a desire to grow, so it would be nice if you could look forward to the future.” Ricky also added, “I think the goal we want to achieve together as Zero Base One has made us more firmly connected.”
As much as they received support from many fans even before their debut, their love for the fans was extraordinary. Kim Ji-woong said, “As much as I feel love, the emotions I can express have become deeper. I am grateful to be able to do music, but it is fun and happy to be able to find different inspirations from our own emotions while receiving pretty love from Zeroz (fandom name).”
Questions about the debut album followed. Kim Tae-rae said, "There were many moments until the dream of debut blossomed, so I think this album contains our story" as a message he wanted to convey with 'Youth in the Shade'. like facing a new challenge. It's not perfect yet, but I want to walk forward with Zeroz with passion and courage."
Regarding what he wants to achieve during Zero Base One’s journey, Seong Hanbin said, “I want to meet more Zeroz people in more places and show my own performance. We will work hard so that our music can reach all over the world.” Jang Hao said, “We want to create our own identity in various fields such as music, performance, and fashion.”
In addition, the nine members honestly answered questions that fans would be curious about, such as the songs they liked the most after listening to the completed album, their strengths that they want fans to know about even 10 years later, and the behind-the-scenes of the music video shoot.
Zero Base One recorded sales of more than 1.24 million copies on the first day of the debut album's release, becoming a 'Million Seller' as the first debut album by a K-pop group. The title song 'In Bloom' exceeded 1.55 million cumulative streams within 3 days of its release on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform. It continues to rise not only on albums but also on domestic and international music charts, such as being awarded a triple gold badge on the music streaming service platform QQ Music within 3 days of its release.
