Choi Woo-shik Opens Up About Marriage and Life Choices
Recently, Choi Woo-shik, who stars in the film 'Number One' directed by Kim Tae-yong, sat down for an interview at a café in Samcheong-dong, Seoul.
The movie 'Number One' tells the story of 'Hamin' (played by Choi Woo-shik), who starts seeing numbers decrease every time he eats his mother's food. He discovers that when the number reaches zero, his mother 'Eunsil' (played by Jang Hye-jin) will die, prompting him to try to protect her.
Choi Woo-shik plays 'Hamin,' who tries to distance himself from his mother to protect her time.
Given that the film includes scenes where he discusses marriage with his on-screen girlfriend Ryeo-eun (played by Gong Seung-yeon), questions about his views on marriage naturally arose. Choi candidly shared his thoughts, saying, "When I look around, many of my friends are married and have children. Sometimes I think that I might have been married by now if things had gone differently." However, he added, "There are still many experiences I haven't had because of work, so I'm open to various possibilities right now."
Choi also noted, "When I see actors my age getting married, it doesn't seem that common. There must be reasons for that." He explained, "Time flies when you're working, and after a project ends, you take a break to return to your original state. In doing so, you often miss out on things that should be obvious."
He added, "People might think, 'What worries could a celebrity have?' but there are many things we miss out on that should be taken for granted. It's a profession where you often miss out on such things." He concluded, "It's a question I'll continue to think about. I believe marriage is a choice that should be made, but I'll keep pondering 'when is the right time?'"
The film 'Number One' is set to be released on the 11th.
