Actress Kim Sun-young Joins Cast of 'Sugar' for a Special Appearance

Actress Kim Sun-young has announced her special appearance in the film 'Sugar,' signaling a busy start to the year.

The film 'Sugar' is a heartwarming true-story drama about a mother, Mira (played by Choi Ji-woo), who overcomes legal and regulatory hurdles to create a medical device for her son diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. It showcases her profound love and personal growth.

Kim Sun-young will portray a regulatory investigator, working alongside Choi Ji-woo. Her unique charisma is expected to add depth to the film.

Last year, Kim Sun-young demonstrated her wide acting range with roles in the drama 'Trauma Center,' 'Unknown Seoul,' and 'For First Love.' Her special appearances in 'Emma' and 'Confidence Man KR' left a strong impression, earning her praise as 'the one and only Kim Sun-young.'

In 'The Price of Confession,' she played Walsun, a character with a rough exterior but a warm heart, bringing the character to life with her dynamic portrayal. Recently, she appeared as Park Young-mi in the sixth episode 'Kimchi' of the 2025 KBS 2TV drama project 'Love: Track,' delivering a powerful performance that left a lasting impact on viewers.
