Hip-Hop Producer GRAY Elevates 'Project Y' with Unique Soundtrack

The upcoming crime entertainment movie 'Project Y', set to kick off 2026, has enlisted hip-hop musician and producer GRAY as its music director, enhancing the film's overall quality. The soundtrack also features vocals from Hwasa, who recently made headlines with her performance alongside Park Jeong-min at an awards ceremony, as well as contributions from Kim Wan-sun, DeVita, Hoody, and An Shinae.

Scheduled for release on January 21, 'Project Y' tells the story of Miseon and Dokyung, who, while dreaming of a different tomorrow in the heart of a bustling city, find themselves on the edge of life, stealing black money and gold bars. The film boasts a star-studded cast including Han So-hee, Jun Jong-seo, Kim Shin-rock, Jung Young-ju, Lee Jae-kyoon, YooA, and Kim Sung-cheol, promising strong performances and fresh chemistry.

GRAY, known for his versatile talents as a hip-hop musician and producer, has taken on the role of music director for 'Project Y'. With his trendy yet unique musical sensibility and production skills, GRAY has captivated both hip-hop fans and the general public. He previously ventured into film music direction with the Netflix movie 'Ballerina', earning critical acclaim. For 'Project Y', GRAY has contributed a diverse array of music that adds a distinctive style to the film. The soundtrack also features vocal performances by Hwasa, Kim Wan-sun, DeVita, Hoody, and An Shinae.

Director Lee Hwan commented on working with GRAY, stating, "I wanted a new and different approach to music than what Director GRAY had done before, and he delivered results beyond what I originally envisioned." This unexpected musical direction is anticipated to enhance the film's genre appeal.

'Project Y' will hit theaters on January 21.
