Director Byun Sung-hyun Expresses Admiration for Actor Sul Kyung-gu at 'Good News' Press Conference

On the morning of the 19th, at 9 AM, the press conference for 'Good News', invited to the Gala Presentation of the 30th Busan International Film Festival, was held at the Busan Cinema Center in U-dong. Attendees included director Byun Sung-hyun, actors Sul Kyung-gu, Hong Kyung, and Yamada Takayuki.
'Good News' is a film depicting the suspicious operations of people gathered to land a hijacked plane by any means necessary in 1970. It is inspired by the Yodogo incident of the 1970s.

The actual incident was Japan's first aircraft hijacking, where a passenger plane was hijacked and taken to North Korea. Director Byun approached this story with a black comedy angle. He stated, “When I first encountered this incident, I thought it was like a comedy. I believe that adding 'black' means it should not only be entertaining but also sharp. Although this incident happened in the 1970s, I felt it could also speak to the present day, which is why I chose it as the subject.”
Director Byun humorously confessed his admiration for Sul Kyung-gu, saying, “I like Kyung-gu hyung. I like him as an actor, as a senior, and as a brother. I like him.”
'Good News' will be officially released on Netflix on October 17.
