Jo Jung-suk Captivates Summer Box Office with 'Zombie Daughter'

Actor Jo Jung-suk has once again captured the summer box office with his latest film, 'Zombie Daughter'.

Starring Jo Jung-suk, 'Zombie Daughter' (distributed by NEW, produced by StudioN, directed by Pil Gam-sung) is a comedic drama about a devoted father who undergoes secret training to protect his daughter, the last remaining zombie on Earth. Following his previous summer hits 'Exit' and 'Pilot', Jo Jung-suk returns to the big screen.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network for movie tickets, 'Zombie Daughter' attracted 430,091 viewers on its opening day, setting the highest opening score for a film released this year. Additionally, as of 8 a.m. on the release day (30th), it held a real-time reservation rate of 42.2%, ranking first, drawing attention to its rapid box office success.

In the film, Jo Jung-suk plays Jeong-hwan, a father who embarks on secret training to protect his daughter Soo-ah (played by Choi Yoo-ri), the last zombie left in the world. His performance, characterized by his unique lively energy and a delicate portrayal of a father's love for his zombie daughter, reaffirms his reputation as a 'trustworthy actor'.

Following the success of 'Exit', which drew 9.42 million viewers, and 'Pilot', which attracted 4.71 million, Jo Jung-suk's 'Zombie Daughter' has also topped the box office with 430,000 viewers on its opening day, marking a successful three-hit streak in the summer box office.

Meanwhile, Jo Jung-suk's 'Zombie Daughter' is now showing in theaters nationwide.
