Exploring the Unique World of 'Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint': A Fantasy Action Film Set to Captivate Audiences

'ORV' is a fantasy action film depicting events that unfold as a novel's world becomes reality. Kim Dokja (played by Ahn Hyo-seop) is the sole reader of the novel, which has been serialized for ten years. He has found solace in the novel and admired its perfect protagonist, Yoo Joonghyuk (played by Lee Min-ho). However, he is dissatisfied with the ending where only Yoo Joonghyuk survives, leading him to leave a harsh review for the author. While commuting on the subway, Kim Dokja receives a reply from the author, challenging him to create his own story. Suddenly, a goblin named 'Bi-hyung' appears, announcing the start of a game, and a monster emerges from the Han River, attacking the subway. Amidst the chaos, Kim Dokja realizes that the novel's world has become reality. As the only complete reader, he begins clearing game missions with his companions based on the novel's content.

'ORV' is like a lavish feast of unfamiliar dishes. As viewers cautiously sample each course, they find themselves at the final dessert before they know it. While the universe may be difficult to accept at first, once embraced, it quickly becomes immersive. The film offers a diverse array of genres, including fantasy, action, and drama, akin to a 'feast.' It also reflects on the chaotic apocalypse and human nature, mirroring aspects of our society.

Ahn Hyo-seop, in his film debut, provides both stability and freshness to the audience. He chooses to blend seamlessly with other actors rather than stand out, aligning with Kim Dokja's goal of creating an ending where he survives alongside Yoo Joonghyuk. Ahn captures the rugged action fitting for the 'ordinary man Kim Dokja' character. Chae Soo-bin, Nana, Shin Seung-ho, and Ji Soo each possess unique skills in the film, such as thread creation, swordsmanship, shield defense, and shooting. The film offers a variety of action styles, including hand movements, powerful action, agile action, and tension-filled action. The dynamic journey of the solitary perfect man and the resilient underdogs completing missions is captivating.
As the film concludes, viewers naturally wonder about the possibility of a sequel. If a sequel is made, it is expected to delve into the detailed stories of characters that could not be fully explored due to time and reality constraints.
'ORV' is set to premiere on the 23rd.
