Kim Dokja, the sole reader, teams up with the novel's protagonist, Yoo Joonghyuk, and other allies to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. The journey of Kim Dokja (played by Ahn Hyo-seop), Lee Hyun-sung (Shin Seung-ho), and Lee Gil-young (Kwon Eun-sung) as they navigate this transformed reality offers warm empathy and exhilarating synergy.

The protagonists of 'Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint' are ordinary individuals, much like those we encounter in everyday life. They face life-or-death scenarios in the novel's world, each solving problems in their unique ways, showcasing the charm of underdog growth characters. Kim Dokja, the only reader of the novel 'Three Ways to Survive in a Ruined World' and an ordinary office worker, starts as just another face in the subway crowd. However, when the novel's world unfolds before him, he emerges as the true protagonist, leading everyone towards a collective survival. Without flashy weapons or skills, Kim Dokja, who alone knows the novel's ending, grows stronger as he predicts every development. The coins he earns as rewards enhance his combat abilities, and as he overcomes crises with his allies, his inner strength solidifies. Ahn Hyo-seop expressed, "I wanted to portray Kim Dokja as someone who holds everyone's hand," sparking curiosity about how their shared journey will unfold.

Lee Hyun-sung, a soldier with formidable strength and defense, acts as a pillar, protecting citizens and comrades in threatening situations, yet harbors unspoken pain within. His past eventually brings about a major crisis, but Lee Hyun-sung perseveres with indomitable will. Shin Seung-ho revealed, "There are scenes where he is entangled in past memories during battles, and I aimed to vividly portray the contrast before and after," heightening anticipation for Lee Hyun-sung's growth narrative as he steps forward from his pain.

Lee Gil-young, an ordinary boy who loves insects, survives with Kim Dokja's help in the subway and quickly adapts to changes, gaining the ability to communicate with insects and becoming a valuable ally. Kwon Eun-sung described Gil-young as "a confident and courageous friend," piquing curiosity about his unpredictable impact on the audience.
