Ahn Hyo-seop Discusses His Role and Running Skills in 'Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint'

On the 17th, a production briefing for the movie 'Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint' (hereafter 'ORV') was held at Lotte Cinema Konkuk University Entrance in Jayang-dong, Seoul. Director Kim Byung-woo, along with actors Ahn Hyo-seop, Lee Min-ho, Chae Soo-bin, Shin Seung-ho, and Nana, attended the event.
'ORV' is a fantasy action film based on the novel of the same name, which depicts the events that unfold when the world within a novel, 'Three Ways to Survive in a Ruined World', which has been serialized for over 10 years, becomes reality.
Ahn Hyo-seop plays the role of Kim Dok-ja, the sole reader of the novel that has been serialized for over a decade. Ahn expressed, “I was very curious about how the script would be realized. It was a film of a scale that had not been seen in Korea before.” He added, “I was drawn to the philosophy of the film, which emphasizes living together rather than alone.”
Director Kim humorously remarked that when he first met Ahn, he thought, “Kim Dok-ja doesn’t need to be that tall and handsome.” He also mentioned, “Initially, I wondered how to make it appear universal. I believed universality was the most important.”
Ahn Hyo-seop shared, “The director tried to shoot as much as possible in sequence. I also tried to feel the character of Dok-ja live. Dok-ja is disappointed that Yoo Joong-hyuk is left alone. He wants to change this ending and hopes everyone can live together, but I wondered if that would be possible when faced with the actual situation.”
Regarding the action scenes, Ahn said, “Dok-ja doesn’t have any special skills, so he had to run as fast as possible. I think my running has improved because I ran a lot,” he laughed.
'Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint' is set to be released on July 23rd.
