Lee Je-hoon said the entire body silhouette is shown
The movie 'Escape' has released stills showing the hard work of Lee Je-hoon, who played Gyu-nam.
'Escape' is a film depicting a life-threatening chase between Gyu-nam, a North Korean soldier who sets out to escape for tomorrow, and Hyeon-sang, an officer of the National Security Agency who chases after Gyu-nam to protect today.
The released still captures the difficult escape process of North Korean soldier Gyu-nam (Lee Je-hoon), who began his escape for tomorrow. The sight of Gyu-nam running without hesitation through the forest, despite bad weather and falling into a muddy swamp, stimulates curiosity about his life-risking escape.
Lee Je-hoon said, "I thought it would be a truly tremendous challenge and challenge physically. I think my determination was different from any other work." Accordingly, in order to depict Gyu-nam's escape from the harsh conditions, he took on the challenge of going beyond his physical and physical limits. Following his youthful military service, Lee Je-hoon decided to escape and built his body by restricting his diet to express Gyu-nam's increasingly thin appearance. “For the first time, the entire body silhouette appears. Although it is a very short scene, I thought it was a scene that showed how Gyu-nam lived. I thought a lot about how to physically express Gyu-nam’s difficult feelings,” said Lee Je-hoon. It raises expectations for the completed character of Gyu-nam.
Due to the nature of the escape setting, having to film continuous running scenes was another challenge for Lee Je-hoon. Lee Je-hoon, who repeated filming until he was completely out of breath and could not feel his legs, but continued to do more takes than originally planned for a high-quality scene, said, "If you don't overcome your limitations, you will be caught here. Then, the audience will also be interested." “I ran desperately and desperately with the mindset that I would lose my life,” he said. Director Lee Jong-pil praised Lee Je-hoon, saying, "As I watched the edited version, I once again realized that actor Lee Je-hoon had worked hard. Nevertheless, it was good that actor Lee Je-hoon's eyes were always alive."
Lee Je-hoon said, "I prepared this work by thinking every day about how I could express the human aspect of not giving up even in the face of extreme despair. Thinking about the desperation and the cliff below that cliff, I kept thinking that 'Escape' was my last work. “I think I was immersed in it and filmed it while repeating it over and over again,” he said.
'Escape' will be released in theaters on July 3rd.
