On the 6th, I met Song Joong-ki, the protagonist of the Netflix movie 'My Name is Loh Kiwan', at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Seoul.
'My Name is Loh Kiwan' is a work that depicts the story of a North Korean defector who arrived in Belgium with the last hope of life and a woman who has lost her reason for living, who fall in love with each other as if they are attracted to each other. Song Joong-ki played the role of Ro Ki-wan, who went to Belgium alone to be recognized as a refugee after defecting from North Korea.
Most of 'My Name is Loh Kiwan' was filmed in Hungary. Song Joong-ki stayed in Hungary for five months, and his wife also stayed with him. Recently, they became a hot topic by attending the VIP premiere of the movie together.
Song Joong-ki said, "What I was most curious about was my wife's reaction (to the movie). My wife is not Korean, so I was worried that she would understand the setting of the movie, such as Ki-wan, a North Korean defector, being in China and then moving to Belgium, but she did." He said. He also said, "I think my wife was sad because she saw everything I filmed. She was the first to tell me that she had a hard time. My wife (who saw the movie) said, 'It's comforting.'"
On the 3rd, a 'My Name is Loh Kiwan' movie talk was held. A handwritten letter event was also held that day. Song Joong-ki indirectly mentioned the late Lee Sun-kyun during Movie Talk that day, saying, "I wrote a letter from my heart." Regarding this, Song Joong-ki did not say anything, saying, "That person is right. But I guess I don't want to show my diary to anyone. I want to keep it in my heart."
'My Name is Loh Kiwan' was released on Netflix on the 1st.
