Director of My Name is Loh Kiwan said "I want to hug Song Joong-ki"”

On the 27th, a production briefing session for the Netflix movie 'My Name is Loh Kiwan' was held at Hotel Naru Seoul MGallery in Mapo-dong, Seoul. Director Kim Hee-jin and actor Song Joong-ki and actress Choi Sung-eun attended.
'My Name is Loh Kiwan' is a work that depicts the story of a North Korean defector who arrived in Belgium with the last hope of life and a woman who has lost her reason for living, who fall in love with each other as if they are attracted to each other.
For director Kim Hee-jin, ‘My Name is Loh Kiwan’ is her debut film. At first, as a writer, I was supposed to work on the script for ‘Ro Ki-wan’. He said, “I received a suggestion to adapt it and direct it as a melodrama. “I liked the original novel, and it felt precious to be able to debut with such a beautiful story.”

Director Kim said, “I think Ro Ki-wan is a person with a strong will and who blooms in the mud. It was written with Song Joong-ki in mind. “When I wrote to him, I was thrilled to hear that he would willingly become Ro Ki-wan,” he said. Song Joong-ki smiled and said, “Willingly?” Director Kim said, “The use of North Korean language and appearance are impressive, but more than that, I want to talk about Song Joong-ki’s face. Although they have been active for a long time, there are new faces that can only be found in our movies. “It’s so sad that I want to hug it, but it’s also so cold that it makes me freeze,” he emphasized.
‘My Name is Loh Kiwan’ will be released on Netflix on March 1st.
