Actor Jung Woo-sung (50) smiled, expressing satisfaction at the competition between directors Lee Jung-jae and Kim Seong-soo for him.

Jung Woo-sung was interviewed by Ten Asia about the movie 'Jung Woo-sung' (directed by Kim Seong-su) at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul at 11 am on the 21st.

On this day, Jung Woo-sung laughed at director Kim Seong-soo's earlier comment, "I had to film Jung Woo-sung better than director Lee Jung-jae," and said, "It's a very healthy competition for both parties," and "I sincerely hope that other directors will also jump into that competition." .

Previously, Jung Woo-sung appeared as Kim Jeong-do in 'Hunt', a film directed by Lee Jung-jae, and then played the role of Lee Tae-shin in 'Spring in Seoul'. Although these roles may be seen as similar characters from the audience's perspective, Jung Woo-sung is receiving favorable reviews for his acting with different energy and interpretation.

Jung Woo-sung said that Kim Jeong-do of 'Hunt' is "a character who pursues a cause," and interpreted Lee Tae-shin as "a character who depicts human agony and conflict." He went on to say that he had a lot of faith in director Kim Seong-soo as to why he chose characters that may look similar.

"Actually, I was very worried. I didn't know how to interpret Lee Tae-shin. But after talking with the director for a long time, I thought that this character would come to me. Nevertheless, I kept taking my time. There was a lot of pushing between the director and the actor. I sat in the director's office and asked, 'How are you going to film that?' “I ended up asking this question.”

Jung Woo-sung, who said, "Director Kim Seong-soo is the director I respect the most," said, "I will do it in the end, but it was dark. I said I didn't know how to portray Lee Tae-shin, but I went ahead and made it with anticipation."

‘Jung Woo-sung’ depicts the Seoul military revolt on December 12, 1979, which changed the fate of the Republic of Korea. It depicts the 9 hours of intense conflict between Chun Doo-gwang's (Hwang Jung-min) rebel army and Lee Tae-shin's (Jung Woo-sung) suppression army. Through this work, Jung Woo-sung is being evaluated as having taken a step forward in terms of acting. Jung Woo-sung showed off his inner strength as Lee Tae-shin, a strong soldier who must fight to the end even though he knows he will lose.

It opens on the 22nd.
