Netflix's Yoo Ah-in tests positive for marijuana
The Hankook Ilbo reported on the 10th that actor Yoo Ah-in (real name Eom Hong-sik, 36) tested positive for 'marijuana' in a narcotics analysis conducted by the National Forensic Service.

According to reports, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's drug crime investigation team conducted a detailed drug analysis at the National Forensic Service and found that urine tested positive for regular marijuana and negative for propofol. The police expanded the investigation into Yoo Ah-in's alleged marijuana use.

When Yoo Ah-in tested positive for marijuana, bad news began for Netflix. Yoo Ah-in is scheduled to release the movie 'The Victory' (directed by Kim Hyung-joo) and the series 'The Fool of the End' (screenplay by Jeong Seong-ju and director Kim Jin-min) on Netflix this year. The movie 'High Five' (directed by Kang Hyeong-cheol) is also scheduled to be released on screen this year.

Among them, 'Seungseob' is in the public lineup for the upcoming second quarter. Setbacks were inevitable as lead actor Yoo Ah-in tested positive for marijuana. 'The Battle' is a movie depicting the inevitable match between two legends of Korean baduk, Jo Hoon-hyeon (Lee Byung-hun) and Lee Chang-ho (Yoo Ah-in), who were teacher, disciple, and rival.

'Fool of the End' and 'High Five' are also scheduled to be released this year, and it is difficult to avoid the fallout.

Domestic and foreign advertisers who use Yoo Ah-in as their advertising model are also expected to suffer significant damage. Yoo Ah-in is in charge of advertising for fashion channel Musinsa, cosmetics brand Santecai, luxury fashion brand Bottega Veneta, outdoor brand Nepa, and health food brand Chong Kun Dang Health I'M Vita.

In addition, Yoo Ah-in has been working as a model representing the Chinese fashion brand JNBY Group's fashion brand CROQUIS since 2021, and it is expected that it will be difficult to avoid contract termination as China is strict on drug-related crimes.
