On the 26th, director Kim Seong-sik was interviewed by Ten Asia about the movie 'Dr. Cheon's Exorcism Lab: Secrets of the Snow Scenery' (director Kim Seong-sik, hereinafter referred to as 'Dr. Cheon') at a cafe in Sogyeok-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
'Dr. Cheon's Exorcism Lab: Secrets of the Snowy Scene' is a film that begins when Dr. Cheon (Kang Dong-won), a fake exorcist who does not believe in ghosts but has ghost-like insight, is commissioned to handle a powerful case he has never experienced before. Director Kim Seong-sik made his directorial debut with ‘Dr. Cheon’.
Director Kim previously gained experience working as a director at the film production sites of directors Bong Joon-ho and Park Chan-wook. Regarding Director Bong Joon-ho's work style, he said, "Director Bong was very detailed, so it was difficult. The demands were high. There was an answer, but it was difficult to find. I learned a lot about the details of the field," and "He is also very considerate."
“I talk a lot about movies with Director Bong, but we also talk about Tottenham a lot because he likes soccer. Haha, he monitored this movie in depth for about an hour, and I was really grateful. He gave me advice on refining humor. “He told me not to overdo it with humor.”
Director Park Chan-wook was so affectionate and helpful that he even participated in the ‘Dr. Chun’ GV. Regarding this, Director Kim said, "Director Park Chan-wook is full of dignity as he is a director's director. I think I learned a lot about what the dignity of a movie is. I really respect him."
"Director Park talked about the expressions of villains, and gave advice to create them through the surrounding situation and atmosphere rather than directly depicting evildoers. I was grateful for his sincere words. 'This movie is my favorite.' Even though people said, ‘That’s not right,’ he did it. And he was very classy. Thanks to Director Park, I tried whiskey for the first time. He took me to a lot of good restaurants. Haha.”

“I also worked with director Jang Jun-hwan and director Yeon Sang-ho, and it was really fun. Director Yeon Sang-ho is the same animator, so I learned a lot about flash. I learned how to be quirky and quick-witted. Director Jang Jun-hwan is really pure. He is sincere about movies and has great attitude. , purity, etc., I really respect.”
‘Dr. Chun’ will be released on September 27th.
