Ryu Jun-yeol's 'Owl' nominated in 8 categories at Baeksang Arts Awards

On the 7th, the secretariat of the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards announced the final candidates for each category who have performed well in the TV, film, and theater categories over the past year.
The movie 'The Owl', released last year, won Best Picture, Best Director (Ahn Tae-jin), Best New Director (Ahn Tae-jin), Best Male Actor (Ryu Jun-yeol), Best Supporting Actor (Kim Seong-cheol), Best Supporting Actress (Ahn Eun-jin), Best Adapted Screenplay (Hyun Gyu-ri, Ahn Tae-jin), Art Award (Hong Seung-cheol/Lighting) was nominated in a total of 8 categories, making it the most nominated.
'Owl', which attracted 3.32 million viewers, is a thriller film depicting the one-night struggle of a blind acupuncturist who can only see at night to uncover the truth after witnessing the death of a crown prince. In particular, it easily surpassed the break-even point (2.1 million) and ranked first in the box office for 21 consecutive days after its release, winning the title of the longest-running box office first among movies released in 2022.
These achievements of 'Owl' are all the more meaningful and impressive because they were achieved under difficult circumstances for Korean films. Accordingly, expectations and attention are focused on 'Owl' winning the award at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards.
Meanwhile, C-JeS Studio participated as a co-producer of 'The Owl' and the hit Disney+ 'Casino', the full length of which was recently released. This year, the movie ‘Citizen Deok-hee’ starring Ra Mi-ran, Gong Myung, Yeom Hye-ran, and Park Byeong-eun will be presented.
