'Fast and Furious: Ride or Die' marches to #1
'Fast and Furious: Ride or Die (Fast and Furious 10)' was released on May 17th in Korea for the first time in the world. On the first day of release, 132,517 people were mobilized. The number of cumulative audiences due to previews and other events recorded 136,406.
From the first day of release, 'Fast and Furious 10' announced a pleasant start. It pushed out 'Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3', which held the top spot for 14 consecutive days. In the meantime, Korea has been called the 'Marvel Republic of Korea (Marvel + Korea)'. It also means that Marvel movies have been extremely popular with fandoms at the forefront. However, the reputation of the modifier gradually lost due to the successive failures of the Marvel universe.
As 'Fast and Furious 10' was released, it was expected that it would affect the performance of 'Gao Gal 3'. The prediction was right. As 'Fast and Furious 10' rose to first place, 'Gao Gal 3' fell one notch in the ranking. Even if you compare the number of audiences on the first day of opening of 'Gao Gal 3' and 'Fast and Furious 10', they were 163,315 and 132,517, respectively. The results on the second day of release also widened with 200,870 (Gao Gal 3) and 92,040 (Fast and Furious 10).
The test bed for the box office performance of 'Fast and Furious 10' is from May 19th to May 21st (Friday-Sunday), the first weekend of release. The start was good, but if you compare 'Gao Gal 3' and simple numbers, you can see the difference. In particular, 'Gao Gal 3', which was specially celebrated for the Children's Day holiday, attracted 200,870 people on Friday, 431,471 people on Saturday, and 324,443 people on Sunday. 'Gao Gal 3' continued its solo system for two weeks.

As of 4:00 PM on May 19, the real-time reservation rate of 'Fast and Furious 10' was 35.7%, and 155,851 people made reservations, taking first place. The reservation rate of 'Gao Gal 3' was 21.1%, and it ranked second with 91,963 people. 'Sin City 3', which will be released on May 31st, has opened reservations. 'Crime City 3' (17.7%, 72,817 people) came in third. The real-time reservation rate varies over time. Only advance reservations are included in the figures, so on-site reservations are not reflected.
It's not as fast as 'Gao Gal 3', but 'Fast and Furious 10' is also speeding up the box office. It is noteworthy that there are no major competitors on the first weekend of 'Fast and Furious 10'. I wonder if 'Fast and Furious 10', which defeated Marvel, will be able to keep its No. 1 spot. In addition, attention is focused on what kind of performance it will achieve compared to 'Gao Gal 3' on the first weekend of release.
