Choi Dong-seok Faces Defamation Investigation Amidst Divorce from Park Ji-yoon

Choi Dong-seok, a well-known broadcaster, is under investigation for allegedly spreading malicious rumors about his ex-wife, Park Ji-yoon, amidst their ongoing divorce proceedings. This news comes as netizens show little interest in his recent joint purchase activities.

On the 28th, Choi posted on his Instagram, "Due to high demand, deliveries are slightly delayed. We are doing our best to ship as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding," along with a photo of the bags he is promoting.

The photo shows the bags Choi is selling, but the post has drawn attention for its lack of comments from netizens. A similar post from the previous day featuring the same product garnered only four comments.

Earlier on the 28th, a media outlet reported that the Seogwipo Police Station in Jeju is investigating Choi for defamation. According to the report, Park Ji-yoon filed a lawsuit last year against those who posted malicious content and spread rumors online, with Choi being named as one of the suspects.

In response, Choi's representatives stated that they have not been officially contacted regarding the investigation. They further claimed that a friend of Park Ji-yoon had been investigated for writing defamatory posts about Choi.

Choi and Park, both former KBS announcers, married in 2009 and have a son and a daughter. However, after 14 years of marriage, they are undergoing divorce proceedings as of October 2023. Park has secured custody and parental rights for their children, while Choi has visitation rights, allowing him to meet his children two days a week.
