Korean Actress Ko So-young Opens Up About Her Return to Acting After a Decade
On the 28th, Ko So-young uploaded a video titled 'Why Ko So-young Deleted All Her YouTube Videos (Confession)' on her YouTube channel.
In the video, Ko So-young discussed her 10-year break from acting, expressing her longing to return to the craft. Known for her roles in the film 'Beat' and the drama 'The Tale of the Nine-Tailed Fox,' she admitted, "I feel a thirst for acting," and humorously added, "Is marriage my greatest work?"
She also candidly shared how her life changed after marriage and childbirth. "After having a baby, I became more conservative and obsessive. Even if I drank, I felt I had to sleep next to my child. I stressed over not being able to breastfeed perfectly," she recalled.
Ko So-young expressed her concerns about her family's public image, saying, "With kids and a famous husband, I worry that my actions might affect them. If someone criticizes me, I can't even lift my head outside."
Regarding her month-long break from YouTube, she admitted, "The hardest part was not knowing what to film. Counting views made my obsession worse." However, she appreciated that "people saw a different side of me beyond the aloof image."
Ko So-young concluded by announcing her plans to "renew the channel and start anew," expressing her desire for more relaxed communication in the future.
Ko So-young married fellow actor Jang Dong-gun in May 2010, and they have a son and a daughter.
